2015 – 2018 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) Call for Project Nominations & Transportation Project Evaluation Criteria

The Fairbanks Metropolitan Area Transportation System (FMATS) is currently requesting project nominations for inclusion in the 2015 – 2018 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP).

The TIP is the short-range, fiscally constrained program of projects that FMATS plans to fund from 2015 – 2018.

FMATS is also currently welcoming comments on the Transportation Project Evaluation Criteria.

Project Evaluation Criteria

The current scoring criteria assign weight based on the project’s impacts on the following:

  • Health and Quality of Life
  • Safety Improvements
  • Public Support
  • Project Cost / Project Length ($/miles)
  • Road Functional Class
  • Road Maintenance and Condition
  • Other Considerations
    • Economic Development, Security, Utility Conflict Resolution, Etc.
