Storm Drain Art

The Tanana Valley Watershed Associated, Fairbanks Stormwater Advisory Committee, Downtown Association, Festival Fairbanks, and US Fish and Wildlife held a Storm Drain Art competition for the winning artists to paint the storm drains  in conjunction with the Street and Green Infrastructure Projects with the City of Fairbanks.

This art is to remind those walking or driving by that the drains flow into our river system as stormwater runoff, leading to the term “When it Rains, it Drains”. This is meant to deter littering and give the public awareness for their actions.
